SAML Message Decoder

Unveiling the Power of a Top Chrome Extension: A Deep Dive into WP Debug

There are numerous Chrome extensions that have carved a niche for themselves, but one has particularly stood out among the rest: WP Debug . With an impressive aggregate rating of 4.34 out of 5, this WordPress debug tool has become a favorite among many tech-savvy users. This article seeks to shed light on this popular Chrome extension and why it is considered one of the top Chrome extensions today.

The Outstanding Features of WP Debug

As a browser tool, WP Debug is designed to assist users in troubleshooting SSO with Chrome, making it one of the most effective utilities for this purpose. The extension runs in the background, collecting SAML messages as they are sent and received by the browser. It is straightforward to use; you pop up the extension to view the latest SAML messages in cleartext, thus enabling you to decipher what transpired and how to resolve any authorization issues encountered.

Over the years, WP Debug has undergone various updates to improve its functionality and user experience. Today, it supports EidSignRequest and EidSignResponse messages, and it has an enhanced popup that loads faster and looks decent in a Firefox popup. Further, it has resolved a bug that used to inhibit the recording of large SAML messages, and it now supports exporting messages to .json file.

User Reviews: Unpacking the High Rating

The high rating of WP Debug is largely attributed to its positive user feedback. Users like Jeff Musser appreciate its simplicity and efficiency, while others like Davide Perini hail it as the "best SAML plugin." Magnus Anvill even goes as far as calling it a "killer extension."

However, like any other software app, WP Debug has its fair share of criticisms. Users like Shiva A and Jay M have reported issues with the extension, with Jay M lamenting that WP Debug is "nowhere near as good as the SAML panel extension." Dianne Dunlap also reports that the extension occasionally gets into a scrambled and unusable state.

Why WP Debug Stands Out Among Top Chrome Extensions

The high rating of WP Debug is a testament to its effectiveness as a Chrome extension. Its ability to help users troubleshoot SSO with Chrome and collect SAML messages effortlessly makes it a valuable utility. Although it has its weaknesses, like occasional performance issues, its strengths significantly outweigh them, as evidenced by the overall positive user feedback and high aggregate rating.

Are you looking to ease your SSO troubleshooting with Chrome? Give WP Debug a try, and experience firsthand why it is considered one of the top Chrome extensions today.

Does what it says on the tin and has helped me many a time fix issues. Awesome.

Never worked for me. Always says, "Once any SAML messages are spotted they will be listed here instead of this image.".

Jay M

No where near as good as SAML panel extention. Much lagier, harder to see text and doesn't show the full SAML

Florin Patitu

Very useful tool to troubleshoot SSO with Chrome, thank you!

Jeff Musser

Magnus Anvill

A killer extensions

Holger Brueckner

Works as expected. Maybe not as elaborate as other plugins but it seems to capture all saml events where others are lacking. Simple to use.

Davide Perini

Best SAML plugin. It works like a charm.

Dianne Dunlap

Worked well initially on current Mac OSx but gets in this weird state where it's scrambled and unusable. Not fixed by incognito, browser kill or reboot. Giving up and using on laptop.
